How it all began
This is Mel and Finley. Mel is our Charity founder. Her beautiful baby boy Finley, was born sleeping at 41 weeks in August 2009. At that devastating time, Mel and Barry's (Finley's daddy) experience was quite unique in the way they were treated by the hospital and by the funeral directors. They were encouraged to make precious memories with their baby boy and, having firstly been given the full information, were offered various suggestions and options that are now so greatly treasured and have helped greatly with their grief. Mel soon realised that the same level of care and understanding was not uniform throughout the UK and that many parents are not given the same opportunities as others. She has since worked tirelessly within the baby loss community to make changes with the hope that every parent get's the chance to make precious memories with their baby and support to follow.
Towards Tomorrow Together is a charity providing resources to delivery suites of hospitals to ensure bereaved parents are given the chance to make precious memories with their babies in the short time that they have and also offering ongoing support to parents following their loss. The charity currently offers services in Somerset and the West Midlands.
All of our trustees have been touched by the loss of a baby and each offers a different skill and knowledge base to Towards Tomorrow Together. Below you will find information about all of our trustees and their own stories.
